STUDENT LIFE

1. ECO-FRIENDLY CAMPUS

The College has a spacious campus spread over 8 acres of land. The campus houses a Chapel, Office building,Library, Hostel, Dining Hall, Classrooms, faculty residences, and a playing ground. The college campus is a place for students to explore spiritual and social learning, and the students are expected to make the utmost use of all the facilities and programs on the campus.

2. SPIRITUAL FORMATION

The campus life of Bethel Bible College revolves around a beautiful chapel and focuses on constant mentoring of the students to become devout servants of Jesus Christ. The daily worship services conducted in the Chapel is the fulcrum of a holistic spiritual learning and experience. Three days each semester are fully separated as spiritual emphasis days providing opportunity for students to devote their time to experience the presence of God.

3. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

BBC is blessed with well-qualified and eminent faculty, who play a prominent role in shaping and training the students for ministry. The course of an academic year is organized into two semesters. Each semester consists of seventeen to eighteen weeks of classes, including examinations. The curriculum stipulated by the Senate of Serampore College (University) is followed closely, however, additional papers are offered by the college.

4. EXAMINATION

The learning of the students is tested periodically to ensure their performance and optimize learning. In addition to the periodical test, final examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. In addition to the university examination, college examinations, and Scripture knowledge examinations are conducted.

5. LIBRARY

BBC has a well-equipped library with a wide range of scholarly books and a wide collection of journals. Students have an excellent opportunity to research and study by making use of Wi-Fi-enabled computers to access online resources.

6. PRACTICAL MINISTRY

Equipping the students for ministry is the foremost priority of Bethel Bible College. The field education program of Bethel Bible College is managed by the Home Missionary Council (HMC). The HMC conducts concurrent practical ministry and an intensive ministerial training for three weeks each academic year. The concurrent practical ministry occurs throughout the academic year and provides opportunity for students to involve in evangelism programs during weekends and ministry along with pastors, conducting services, etc. Intensive ministerial training offers the students with opportunities to engage in social works, frontier zones and pastoral assistance, and pioneering activities. Students shall be assigned different ministries, for a period of 3-4 weeks, at different centers or sent as a team for pioneering. The ministerial engagements for the students shall be of the following nature: ecumenical exposure, social works/NGOs, engagement in frontier zones (people affected by calamities or atrocities), pioneering, pastoral assistance, and evangelistic activities. The field ministry of each student shall be evaluated and graded as per their overall participation in the ministry.

7. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Extra-curricular activities are conducted on the Bethel campus at scheduled times. These programs are for the holistic growth and well-being of the students. All students need to participate in these activities so as to foster a good fellowship and maintain a wholesome life on campus.

  • Social Days: Social Days are organized by the college as a means to foster a sense of community and provide opportunities for students to show their talents.
  • Sports: Students are encouraged to involve in sports activities on the campus. Scheduled times are allotted for a variety of sports. The Annual Sports Day is celebrated each year.
  • College Picnic: Every year, the college organizes a picnic for the final year students. The purpose of the college picnic is to foster a cordial and friendly relationship among the students, the faculty, and the staff.
